Intention. Inspiration. Ingenuity. These attributes set off a year of significant achievements for Drexel University's LeBow College of Business. Aiming for the best, our faculty research ranked among the Top 100 Worldwide Business Schools for the first time and our academic quality is at its finest. Stirred by innovation, our Entrepreneurship Programs ranked Top 10 in the nation, as did our Professional MBA Program. Bolstered by support of our alumni and friends, we honored David L. Cohen, Executive Vice President of Comcast Corporation, as Business Leader of the Year; funded scholarships and programs; and established the R. John Chapel, Jr., Dean's Chair in Leadership. And confident about the future, we devised a new strategic plan to lead us in the years ahead.
Amid the College's success, business has experienced more than its share of "moments of truth." The cold, hard truth is our present economic system has buckled. We have witnessed its immediate negative impact on our constituents and the world markets.
We have questioned our roles as educators and researchers in improving business. We have contemplated the grave responsibility generations—now and in the future—have in righting our economic systems to be ethical and sustainable.
To meet the demands of this challenging environment, our plan must answer the call for a new paradigm in business education that is transformative and progressive. The ideas put forth in this report are relevant, strategic, and connect us to a common purpose, reaffirming our shared values in creativity, innovation, excellence, and inspiration.
The core strategies and distinctive approach that define this report will chart the course of action for Drexel University's LeBow College of Business over the next five years. They set pioneering benchmarks for measurable outcomes to enable our constituents to be competitive in an emerging global marketplace.
Lifelong learning is a key that drives business forward. Together, we can articulate and implement the change that our world so greatly needs. Success is never taken for granted, it has to be earned, and what that success is, is defined by the seeker. Our time is now.
