Today began with a return to the Presidential Palace where we saw the ceremonial changing of the guard. Our guide told us that there was to be a strike by high school students today, as they were protesting the fact they have to pay for public transportation.

After seeing the changing of the guard, we visited the Central Bank (where no pictures could be taken). We heard an excellent presentation from Leonardo Hernandez, the Deputy General Manager. Between our visit to the Central Bank and the stock exchange, we had lunch at a food court close to the bank. While some tried the 'Italiano', which is a hot dog with ketchup, mayonnaise and avocado, others (like Dave) found food that was a little more familiar.

All trading on the exchange takes place electronically, as you can see from this picture. This was taken at 4:00 pm, while the market was still open (IPSA was down 1.2 at that point)
