How to Enroll

July 11 - 15, 2011

StartUp! is a commuter program. Exceptional high school students, currently in their sophomore or junior year, are encouraged to apply.

Candidates must submit:

  • An application form
  • A brief essay (1-2 typed pages)
  • One letter of recommendation*
  • Scholarship application (optional)
  • Thanks to the generosity of our alumni, the majority of Camp LeBow costs have been underwritten. Students selected for the programs will be required to submit a nonrefundable $500 fee to cover their tuition for the program (additional scholarships are available to students demonstrating financial need).

Application Deadline is Mon., April 25th, 2011.
Admission to the Camp LeBow programs is competitive. Preference is given to students with outstanding GPAs, exceptional standardized test scores (PSAT or SAT are considered) and active involvement in extracurricular or community service activities.

Drexel University's LeBow College of Business Laurence A. Baiada Center for Entrepreneurship in Technology inspires young entrepreneurs with StartUp!, an innovative five-day summer entrepreneurial expedition for exceptional rising high school juniors and seniors. StartUp! instills an entrepreneurial passion for business startups and offers a foundation of knowledge to aspiring business leaders.

Laurence A. Baiada Center for Entrepreneurship in Technology is a full-service, interdisciplinary Center run by Drexel University's LeBow College of Business. Through its mission of incubating ideas, entrepreneurs and companies, the Baiada Center links research, coursework and entrepreneurial thinking with practical guidance and real-world thinking to develop entrepreneurial leaders and create
successful ventures that benefit the Greater Philadelphia region and beyond.

DAYS 1-4

StartUp! cultivates entrepreneurial skills that promote success in business and in life.

Entrepreneurial topics examined include:

  • Strategy and market development
  • Sales and customer service
  • Legal, finance and accounting
  • Product development and positioning
  • What it means to be an entrepreneur
  • Marketing
  • Proposal development and presentation

DAY 5

StartUp! culminates in a Business Development Competition in which teams present their ideas for a new product. Prizes are awarded to the winning teams. Certificates of Completion are issued at the end of the program.
