| Description: | The CFO Alliance is an exclusive peer group of financial executives that meets to discuss issues and answers to the unique challenges they face in today's economic environment and the impact on tomorrow. Presented by Shawn Mobbs, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Finance Economics, Finance and Legal Studies University of Alabama Learning Objectives: •Trends in Board of Directors selections, including the decreased involvement of the CFO •What level of financial expertise does the Board have and should the CFO be involved? •Good Director vs. Good CFO: The Balancing Act •Can the CFO have the same impact on firm financing decisions when they are not Board members? •Do Boards make different decisions when the firm's CFO is one of the members? •Do firm non-CEO executives need to be Board members or can they participate by simply attending the meetings?
