Announcement & Call for Papers

The Third Annual Conference on Corporate Governance will be held at the Drexel University's LeBow College of Business. The conference will be held on April 9th featuring theoretical and empirical research related to corporate governance. 2010 marks the 3rd year that we have held this conference.

Andrei Shleifer will receive our award for outstanding contributions to research in corporate governance and present the keynote speech at Friday's luncheon. Previous recipients were Michael Jensen and Rene Stulz.

The deadline for submission of papers is November 15, 2009. Details about submissions are included below.

Paper Submission Instructions
(Submission deadline November 15, 2009):

Five papers will be selected for the program. (Last year we had over 100 submissions!) This year's submission process contains two steps:

1. Send a PDF version of your paper to CorpGov@Drexel.edu. Please note, your paper MUST be saved with the following file name ‘All Authors' Last Names_Paper Title.pdf' (Submitting Author's name should be in all caps i.e. Cai-WALKLING_Shareholders Say on Pay.pdf).

2. Once your paper is submitted you will need to register your paper online at www.lebow.drexel.edu/Event/AcademicConferenceSubmissions. There is a $25 submission fee.

To be eligible for submission, the paper must still be at a revisable stage (i.e. neither published nor so close to publication that significant changes are not feasible) by the date of the conference.

We expect to notify authors about acceptances by approximately February 1, 2010.

The $25 submission fee only applies to those who are submitting papers for consideration. There is no charge for registering to attend the conference.

You are welcome to register and attend the conference whether or not you submit a paper and whether or not your paper is accepted.

Travel Accommodations:
Presenters will be reimbursed for reasonable travel expenses (up to $500.) including roundtrip coach airfare, ground transportation from the airport to hotel and Thursday night's hotel stay. Meals during the conference are included.

Registration information:
On-line registration will be made available on the conference Web Site after November 1, 2009.
