| Description: | With a difficult economy creating turmoil not seen in decades, a company's very existence depends on leaders whose ability to conquer near-term obstacles does not impede the ability to deliver on that business's long term vision. Hugh Long, Wachovia's Northeast Group Executive for Wholesale Banking, will discuss the challenge of leading through tough times and the enduring legacy that companies can create by wisely responding to changing market forces. Hugh C. Long II is Wachovia Bank's Northeast Group Executive for Wholesale Banking, with responsibility for all commercial and business banking activities in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and Greater Washington, D.C. Mr. Long joined the company in 1973 and has served the bank in a variety of leadership roles including president of the company's Mid-Atlantic, Georgia, Atlanta and Washington DC markets. Arriving in Philadelphia in 2003 to head the company's Pennsylvania/Delaware market, his responsibilities have steadily expanded and now include all wholesale activities in Wachovia's Virginia through Connecticut marketplace.
