Dr. Bert Rosenbloom, Rauth Chair Professor of Marketing, has been invited to serve as the Track Chair for the "Marketing Channels and Distribution Systems in the Global Environment" at the 18th Annual Conference of The International Management Development Association.
Dr. Bijou Lester, professor of economics published co-authored papers entitled "Prefrontal Cortex Dysfunction and Attitudes toward Money: A Study in Neuroeconomics" in the Journal of Socio-Economics, 2008, 37, 1785-1788 as well as "Reflections on Rational Choice: The Existence of Systemic Irrationality," in the Journal of Socio-Economics, 2008, 37, 1218-1233. Dr. Lester also presented her paper "An Exploratory Analysis of Composite Choices" at the IAREP/SABE World Conference, Rome, Italy, on Sept. 3-6, 2008 and received the 2008 Appreciation Award for her leadership serving as SABE President for 2006-2008 from the Society for the Advancement of Behavioral Economics.
Dr. Srini Swaminathan, professor of marketing and Dr. Rolph Anderson, Royal H. Gibson, Sr. Professor of Marketing had their research paper "Cultivating Customer Loyalty: Why Businesses Do Not Have Complete Control" accepted for presentation and publication in the Proceedings of the 2009 American Marketing Association Winter Educators' Conference in Tampa, Florida.
Dr. Hyokjin Kwak, associate professor of marketing and Dr. Rolph Anderson, Royal H. Gibson, Sr. Professor of Marketing published their research paper "Impact of Salesperson Macro-Adaptive Selling Strategy on Job Performance and Satisfaction," in the Proceedings of the 2008 American Marketing Association's Summer Educators' Conference in San Diego, CA.
Dr. Rolph Anderson, Royal H. Gibson, Sr. Professor of Marketing, Dr. Srini Srinivasan, professor of marketing, Dr. Hyokjin Kwak, Associate Professor of Marketing, and Dr. Frederick Hong-kit Yim, Assistant Professor of Marketing at the University of Akron, published their research paper titled "Performance Appraisals of Sales Managers: An Empirical Investigation," in the 2008 Proceedings of the World Marketing Conference at the Korean Academy of Marketing Science, Shanghai, China.
Dr. Rolph Anderson, Royal H. Gibson, Sr. Professor of Marketing, and Dr. Srini Swaminathan, professor of marketing, served on the committee for two doctoral students; Frederick Hong-kit Yim and Barry Dickinson, who successfully defended their dissertations and earned their Ph.D.s during summer 2008.
Dr. Hyokjin Kwak, associate professor of marketing, Dr. Trina Larsen Andras, professor of marketing, Marina Puzakova Ph.D. student, and George M. Zinkhan (2009) published "The Role of Interpersonal Orientation, Cognitive Endeavor, and Advertising in Consumer Ethnocentrism: A Conceptual Model," in Excellence in Marketing Research - Striving for Impact, Vol. 20, Kristy Reynolds and Chris White, eds., Chicago: American Marketing Association, forthcoming.
Dr. Konstantinos Serfes, associate professor of economics, presented his paper titled "Public goods and tax competition in a two-sided model," at Lehigh University on October 24.
Dr. Yoto Yotov, assistant professor of economics, presented his paper "The Changing Incidence of Geography," co-authored with James E. Anderson (Boston College) at the Midwest Meetings in International Trade, held in Ohio State University from October 13 to the 15.
