Jun 04, 2010 - Winners of Drexel University's LeBow College of Business Baiada Center for Entrepreneurship Incubator Competition were announced on June 2 at the Laurence A. Baiada Center for Entrepreneurship's annual conference held at World Café Live in Philadelphia. Six teams, comprising Drexel undergraduate and graduate students and their colleagues, competed to win space in the Baiada Center Incubator and other prizes for their startup operations.
May 27, 2010 - Dean George P. Tsetsekos, Ph.D., recently returned from China where he signed agreements on behalf of LeBow College with Antai College of Economics and Management at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and with Fudan University's School of Management, both in Shanghai. These two agreements serve to formalize an exchange for students, faculty, scholars, and academic information to benefit both institutions.
May 21, 2010 - LeBow College of Business was recently recognized by BusinessWeek magazine with top rankings for its undergraduate specialty programs. LeBow's Macroeconomics, Marketing, and Microeconomics departments performed especially well, earning the No. 15, 20, and 30 spots, respectively, among 139 schools.
May 20, 2010 - Drexel University President Pennoni has announced that the University will confer honorary degrees on Larry Ciletti and David Girard-diCarlo during the University's 2010 LeBow College of Business Commencement ceremony, to be held at the Daskalakis Athletic Center on June 12.
May 14, 2010 - A four-member team of Drexel University's LeBow College of Business MBA students has been chosen to be among the finalists to compete at the 2010 Pioneer Employer Case Competition: “Raising Wages, Increasing Profits.” The team is comprised of Two-Year MBA students Jason Phifer, Joseph Zaccardi, Carolina Mendoza, and Joseph Cicali.
May 13, 2010 - Bradley Ericson, the Drexel University LeBow College of Business sophomore who was named Entrepreneur magazine's 2009 College Entrepreneur of the Year, is a finalist for Alister & Paine's 2010 Young Entrepreneur of the Year award. Ericson is co-founder and CEO of 3SecondReceipts LLC, a company developing a platform to create manageable, itemized digital receipts to replace traditional thermal paper receipts.
May 13, 2010 - Drexel University's LeBow College of Business recently partnered with the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA) to launch the ALPFA Cares Scholarship Program which provides up to three $10,000 scholarships to Latino students.
May 11, 2010 - Drs. Michael Gombola and Jie Cai, professor and assistant professor of finance, respectively, of LeBow College of Business were asked to serve as witnesses regarding financial reform at a hearing entitled “Bringing Accountability and Transparency to Wall Street” chaired by U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) held at Drexel University on May 3.
May 11, 2010 - Kent Troutman, a finance major at Drexel University's LeBow College of Business, has been selected as a Fulbright Scholar for 2010-11 academic year. Troutman plans to travel to the Sichuan province of China to conduct research about interest rate policies that would allow microfinance to be an effective poverty-alleviation tool in Southwestern China. He studied abroad in Beijing during the 2009-10 academic year.
