PhD Program : Internal Admissions
Applicants to the Ph.D. Program in Business who currently attend
Drexel University or who previously attended Drexel University need
not pay an application fee. In addition, current or former Drexel
students should NOT submit their application materials to the Office
of Graduate Admissions. Instead, they should submit the following
materials to the Office of the Ph.D. Program in Business (325 Academic
Building) by February 1.
- A cover letter: with applicant contact information that
indicates the specialization area for which admission is sought.
- Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT): Applicants
to all specializations within the Ph.D. program are required to
submit scores from the GMAT, except for applicants to the specializations
in economics and decision sciences who may submit either the GMAT
or the GRE. GMAT and GRE scores are not accepted if they are more
than five years old.
- A personal statement: The personal statement should
explain the applicant's educational and personal experiences that
have influenced the decision to pursue a Ph.D. and should discuss
the candidate's career plans and goals. The faculty is especially
interested in learning about an applicant's prior research experience
and the commitment to future research in the applicant's area
of specialization.
- Two letters of recommendation: Applicants are strongly
encouraged to seek recommendations from academics or other professionals
who can assess the applicant's likelihood of success in a research-oriented
Ph.D. program.
- All undergraduate and graduate level transcripts.
