The Business of Ambition

The Revised MBA Curriculum

The forward-looking graduate programs at Drexel University's LeBow College of Business now offer co-curricular experiential learning components that enable students to explore and stimulate their strengths and passions, and reflect on and discover their true ambitions.

These valuable opportunities reinforce traditional learning, augment professional development and career advancement, enhance mastery of business knowledge, and expand professional networks, with three student-focused initiatives:

  • The Marketplace: Includes three speakers' series that feature leaders of industry to provide our students a view of what it's like to run a major business operation; international business events and MBA personal improvement events. LeBow College partners with organizations such as the World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia, the Greater Philadelphia Economic Development Council, and the World Affair Council on these events.
  • The 11th Hour: Students are encouraged to enter case competitions, where they are essentially planning the implementation of new business ideas. Our students have done well in the Association for Corporate Growth's Philadelphia Cup, competing against other schools in the region. Competitions include: IBM Case Competition, CapSim Competition, and the Baiada Business Plan Competition.
  • The ROI (Return on Investment): Personalized career planning for career changers or career accelerators allows students to maximize their career progression. Students develop their own Career Development Plan with MBA Career Services to identify, develop and document leadership skills through career practicum experiences such as the College's MentorMatch program; involvement with associations; internships; and through volunteer activities.
