Executive MBA

Key Program Features

Leadership
The Executive MBA focus on leadership differentiates this program from traditional programs -- nearly one-third of contact time is dedicated to the art of leadership.

Small
Each EMBA cohort ranges typically between 28 and 32 students.

Engaging
Students actively engage faculty and other students.  In effect, everyone - students and faculty alike - are both learning from and teaching each other.

Team oriented
Many assignments are completed as part of a team of fellow students whose knowledge and experience will enrich your learning and provide support to help you achieve your educational goals.

Relevant
Courses are designed to provide skills and knowledge that can be applied in your job today, as well as tomorrow. About three-quarters of the faculty have at least five years of full time corporate work experience, in addition to making substantial contributions to research, consulting, and teaching in their fields.

Challenging
The accelerated formats require students to be (or become) excellent time managers, requiring 12 - 20 hours of your time each week that class is in session.  Its courses and assignments are intended to push students to reach new levels of skill and understanding.

Accredited
The College is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), a status held by less than one-fourth of the nation's business schools.

Convenient
Drexel is located two blocks west of the 30th Street Station in Philadelphia.  Parking is provided to those who prefer to drive to campus. Our innovative weekend format requires only one Friday and two Saturdays month .

Format to Meet Your Personal and Professional Needs

Drexel's LeBow College of Business offers it's EMBA program in a traditional weekend format:

  • Fast-paced and focused programs created for highly motivated and experienced professionals.
  • Lock-step, cohorted programs that are designed for you to learn from a small group of fellow students who begin and finish the program together, creating deep personal and professional networks that will help shape your career.
  • Focus on providing you with new skills and knowledge that can be applied in the workplace today as well as tomorrow.

Classes in the EMBA program meet one Friday and two Saturdays (from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) a month, in an alternating format to minimize time away from the office and home while keeping students on a steady path to completion in 20 months.

The 10-day International Leadership Retreat is included in the program to provide students with an exclusive capstone experience.  Leadership courses focus on development of individual strengths.  In immersion classes the examination of trends and cultures augments students’ understanding of conducting business internationally.  Best-practice case studies and site visits enable students to analyze the operating styles of top corporations.  Students also learn from, and network with, noted international business experts.
