The LEAD MBA offers a flexible option for students to acquire broader skills in the following areas:
* Specializations are not offered for LEAD Sacramento. Please refer to course work table on the LEAD sacramento page
** For students with an engineering degree
The Drexel LEAD MBA program aligns the strengths of the LeBow faculty with the academic needs of students and those of the business community. It enables students to focus on an area of specialization to meet their educational needs. The program features an enhanced leadership component that is interwoven throughout the curriculum. Students learn to think strategically and identify innate strengths through a multidisciplinary approach that includes self-assessment and communication workshops. Participants will augment their career skills through professional development.
The LEAD MBA begins with a program orientation focusing on communication skills, teambuilding, and an introduction to leadership material. This period lays the foundation for future classes and eases the transition back to school.
Leadership workshops enhance the LEAD MBA students' overall educational experience and interpersonal effectiveness. Students complete self-assessments throughout the curriculum to identify innate strengths and enhance self-awareness and personal development. In addition, students develop tactical skills for high-impact communications, problem-solving, conflict management and negotiations while learning on building winning teams.
During the course of the program, LEAD MBA students also participate in career enhancement and networking workshops to identify resources that will assist in career progression within an organization, as well as strategies for effective networking.
All students enrolled in the LEAD program are required to take INTB 620: International Business Management. This course examines decision-making in international business operations, including evaluation of role and policies of the multinational firm. It also covers topics including community relations, labor relations, and personnel and financial management.
The LEAD Program offers this course as an international trip option, and participating students earn 3 credits for this residency. Students will travel with their cohort to a later determined destination. (For example, the last LEAD INTB 620 group traveled to Munich and Prague.)
The INTB 620 international business coursework for this residency is comprised of advance research — both individual and team-based, classroom instruction, and business and cultural visits. After the successful completion of this course, students will earn 3 credits toward their MBA program of study. This trip provides a fantastic experiential component while providing an opportunity to expand your LeBow network!
For students unable to travel or who prefer a traditional full-term course delivery, an online version of the course is available. Students will complete this online course within the same term that the trip option occurs.
