Camp XChange is a commuter program. Exceptional high school sophomores and juniors from southeastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and northern Delaware are encouraged to apply.

The tuition for Camp XChange has been generously underwritten by alumni scholarships.

Application Deadline is April 28, 2008.
Admission to the Camp LeBow programs is competitive. The acceptance rate for 2007 program applicants was 50 percent. Preference is given to students with outstanding GPAs, exceptional standardized test scores (PSAT or SAT are considered) and active involvement in extracurricular of community service activities.

Drexel University's LeBow College of Business offers outstanding high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to experience the fast-paced, high stakes world of securities trading. Designed with LeBow College's Department of Finance, Camp XChange is a dynamic, five-day summer program that enables participants to gain an overview of trading through firsthand experience in LeBow College's new electronic trading lab.

The Finance Department in LeBow College of Business prepares students for careers in corporate financial management, investing and the public sector. The finance curriculum provides excellent preparation for various types of professional certification, including chartered financial analyst (CFA) and certified financial planner (CFP). In the private sector, students often find careers in banking,securities analysis and portfolio management. In government, many choose to work for regulatory agencies. Typical career titles for graduates include financial analyst, capital budgeting officer, credit analyst, merger and acquisition manager, bank trust officer and portfolio analyst securities broker.

DAYS 1-4

Camp XChange participants spend their mornings learning the way trading is structured in various markets, such as the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) or NASDAQ. Afternoons are spent in simulated trading where participants test their knowledge in a state-of-the-art trading lab equipped
with the same software that professionals rely on to make big-money decisions. Day four includes a visit to the trading office of a prominent securities firm.

Camp XChange familiarizes participants with :

  • Order-driven specialist markets
  • Dealer markets
  • Call markets
  • Bond, stock and option valuation

DAY 5

Camp XChange culminates with a visit to the Philadelphia Stock Exchange. Students present results of their trading activity in a Portfolio Manager's presentation. Prizes are awarded to the winning team. Certificates of Completion are issued at the end of the program.
