What We Do

The department of Instructional Technical Services provides college-wide support for learning technologies and multimedia development. We support faculty in developing meaningful and engaging learning experiences for online and hybrid course delivery and we provide guidance in the use of instructional technologies for online and face-to-face teaching. We also support students taking courses via Drexel's BbVista learning management system. In addition, we offer event recording and multimedia production services for small to medium projects.

Our Vision

Our connections to the world have changed dramatically over the last decade, but some feel that higher education has not kept pace with the world at large. Our belief is that learning can and should be engaging and interactive, leveraging available technologies that promote active learning and collaboration.

BbVista Support

We offer support and assistance in:

• Initial setup of course shells
• Use of basic BbVista tools and features
• Setting up online assessments
• Leveraging BbVista for hybrid course delivery

Instructional Technologies

We offer service or assistance with the following:

• Camtasia lecture recording production
• Digitization of VHS or DVD video assets for online delivery
• Consulting on Fair Use Act guidelines for copyrighted content
• Polling and survey software, including text-messaging polls

Media Production Services

Here are the media services we can provide:

• Recording indoor and outdoor events (use our request link)
• Recording interviews, panel discussions, and 2-minute course introductions
• Audio recording for radio spots or narrated lectures
• "Green screen" recordings (where background can be replaced)
• Small to medium video projects (for instructional or marketing purposes)
• Staff/faculty loan of easy-to-operate video equipment for other types of events

Other Services

We also have the following available:

• Faculty workstation (for 15-minute usage)
• Document scanner
