Professor Jenkins joined the faculty at the University of Kentucky in 2012 and currently serves as the Executive Associate Dean of the Gatton College. She holds BS degrees in Accounting and Finance from Drexel University and a PhD in Accounting from the University of Iowa. Prior to doctoral studies, Professor Jenkins was an auditor at PriceWaterhouse LLP where she concentrated on high tech and bio tech companies. She currently consults with several accounting firms and serves as an expert witness on financial reporting matters.

Professor Jenkins has published research in several leading accounting journals including The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Review of Accounting Studies, and Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory. Her research focuses on both financial accounting and auditing. Specifically she investigates how the market respond to financial reporting failures—restatements. In addition, she has researched extensively on firm share repurchases. Professor Jenkins currently teaches financial accounting to executive MBAs and a capital markets seminar to doctoral students. Professor Jenkins is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Maryland.
