All of our programs, such as the Drexel Co-op, enable students to connect classroom learning to on the job experience. They leave Drexel well prepared for the “real world” after graduation.
LeBow is dedicated to supporting you in the significant role you play in helping your student make a smooth transition from high school to college and beyond. The following guidelines and suggestions will assist you in helping your son or daughter enhance his or her learning environment both at home and school.
Drexel provides a central location for much of the information needs for parents in addition to a number of resources provided by Drexel Student Life, including the current Student Handbook, which is given to all Drexel students, a Parent and Family DrexelNOW email newsletter (sign-up here) and the Drexel Family Association.
General advice for parents
Stay interested and supportive throughout your son or daughter’s years at Drexel and during co-op periods. Developing interests in the business world is dependent on a sound education: That is part of the faculty’s task in LeBow. But students gain interest and experience through insight provided by work experience, social growth and enthusiasm within the student’s own family.
So emphasize the importance of academics and work experience opportunities. Also, you may want to encourage your son or daughter to engage in service activities or pursue leadership opportunities. Many employers rate these higher than GPAs among the factors they take into consideration.
LeBow College of Business is willing to help in any way possible to make sure your student makes the most of his or her experience. Please direct general information questions to LeBow’s Undergraduate Advising Office at 215.895.2110.
