SEVENTH ANNUAL ACADEMIC CONFERENCE ON CORPORATE GOVERNANCE DREXEL UNIVERSITY LEBOW COLLEGE OF BUSINESS April 25, 2014

ANNOUNCEMENT AND CALL FOR PAPERS

The Seventh Annual Academic Conference on Corporate Governance will be held at Drexel University’s LeBow College of Business April 25, 2014. The conference features theoretical and empirical research related to corporate governance with a slight preference to research related to work by this year’s honoree, Michael S. Weisbach.

Michael S. Weisbach, the Ralph W. Kurtz Chair in Finance at The Ohio State University will receive our award for outstanding contributions to research in corporate governance and present the keynote speech at Friday’s luncheon. Previous recipients were Michael Jensen, Rene Stulz, Andrei Shleifer, Steven Kaplan, Harold Demsetz, and Kevin Murphy.

The deadline for submission of papers is November 18, 2013. Details about submissions are included below.

Paper Submission Instructions (Submission deadline November 18, 2013):

Five papers will be selected for the program.

You may submit as many papers as you like for consideration. There is a $50 submission fee per paper. Once you have registered your paper via this website, please send a PDF version of your paper to CorpGov@Drexel.edu. Please note, your paper MUST be saved with the following file name– All Authors’ Last Names_Paper Title.pdf. Submitting Author’s name should be first and in all caps with the shortened title of the paper following after an underscore.

To be eligible for submission, the paper must still be at a revisable stage (i.e. neither published nor so close to publication that significant changes are not feasible) by the date of the conference.

We expect to notify authors about acceptances by late February 2014.

You are welcome to register and attend the conference whether or not you submit a paper and whether or not your paper is accepted. Conference registration will be opening in January 2014.

Travel Accommodations: Presenters will be responsible for their own travel and lodging for the conference. Hotel accommodations at reduced rates for this conference will be arranged at the Sheraton Hotel in University City.

Registration information: On-line registration will be made available on the conference Web Site after January 1, 2014. The registration fee for this conference is $175. This fee covers the welcome dinner on Thursday, April 24th, breakfast and lunch during the day as well as all conference materials.
