EXCELerate your Future is a software training series sponsored by UGCS to equip undergraduate LeBow students with the skills needed to succeed on their next co-op or before accepting that full-time job offer.
The Basic Excel workshop will help to give students an in-depth overview on worksheet basics and formatting. This session will be an interactive and hands-on training will be provided.
Topics to include: Navigating the Excel Ribbon – Cover all of the menu options in EXCEL 2010 and identify the locations of the most important features. Basic Operations – Review the basic terminologies of the spreadsheet and understand the foundations of formulas. Learn about basic functions such as SUM, MIN, MAX and AVERAGE. Absolute vs. Relative References - Understand the difference between relative references vs. absolute references and when to use each. Formatting – Learn various ways to format data in spreadsheets to make numbers and text more presentable. **Working with Data Sets & Ranges – Work with large sets of data and apply formulas to large areas. Learn to group and organize data using the “Group” feature. Charts – Create visually engaging charts using existing data Shortcuts – Learn various keyboard shortcuts in EXCEL to access and perform features faster.
Students will be REQUIRED to complete a pre- and post-workshop survey
