Group presentations are common in business classes. Not only do students learn to apply the course content, but they gain valuable experience in presenting and communicating. However, ten-week terms make it challenging to dedicate one or more class periods to student presentations. And online classes don’t have face-to-face class time as an option.

VoiceThread can help. Designed to be a multimedia discussion board with audio and video, VoiceThread is being used at LeBow to have groups of students upload their PowerPoint and record audio for each slide. Then the completed presentation can be shared with the rest of the class in Blackboard LEARN. Teachers can then use the face-to-face class time for Q&A and follow-up discussion or that Q&A can also occur in an online discussion forum. And VoiceThread does not require a high technical level for students or faculty.

In this workshop, faculty will see VoiceThread in action and learn how this tool can help make room for group presentations in your online, hybrid, or face-to-face classes.

Who should attend: LeBow College of Business full-time/part-time/adjunct faculty or PhD candidates who are teaching and like to assign student presentations. LCB staff who are teaching or who directly support faculty are also welcome. This workshop is open to all Drexel faculty.
