Sandy Balkin, Senior Principal at Precision for Value, will give a presentation entitled “Business Analytics and Promotional Effectiveness.”
With increasing focus on loading and visualizing large data sets, today’s data scientist tends to ignore the importance of understanding customer heterogeneity, masking the variability and uncertainty which represent the most significant and actionable information in converting quantitative insight into profitable action. This presentation will review the inherent dangers stemming from making business decisions solely on point estimates and introduce an innovative operating model for disseminating Big Data based insights throughout the enterprise, meeting a diverse set of stakeholder needs, while retaining the critical information contained in distributions, standard errors, confidence bands and prediction intervals.
