Attention Drexel Alumni: Paul Robeson High School Career Day

Drexel LeBow teams up again with Paul Robeson High School to promote and recruit for their Career Day.

Paul Robeson High School for Human Services would like to cordially invite Drexel alumni to participate in their annual Career Day. This event is an excellent opportunity to inspire Paul Robeson High School students to explore career possibilities for their future.

The schedule will consist of three 45 minute sessions. These sessions will occur within 12 classrooms, with at least 3 presenters in each classroom. Each presenter will have approximately 10 minutes for their presentation. After the 45 minute period, the school bell will ring and students will transition to their next session. Presenters will remain in their current classroom, and speak to another group of students once the bell rings.

Career Day schedule:

• Continental Breakfast: 8:00-8:45am
• Welcome Session 8:45-9:00am
• Session A - 9:05-9:50am
• Session B - 9:53-10:38am
• Session C- 10:43-11:20
• Class of 2015 Networking Luncheon 11:30am – 1:00pm

*Please arrive 20 minutes prior to the session. Lunch is provided for all participants.

Paul Robeson High School is requesting that you speak about your education, the requirements for your position, and discuss the aspects of your job that you enjoy most. If applicable, bring some interesting artifacts , handouts/giveaways from your job to share with our students. Presenters will speak to three classes total during the day and will also be paired with at least two additional guest speakers. We encourage you to stay for all sessions and the networking luncheon with our Seniors, but understand that there may be time constraints in your schedule. If you are only available for one session, please let us know at your earliest convenience.

FAQs What are my transport/parking options getting to the event? Paul Robeson parking lot is available to all attendees, located on Ludlow St.

What can I bring to the event? Enthusiasm, Energy, Materials, handouts, and give-a-ways. Any and all materials related to your profession. If copies of handouts are required please send them no later than Monday May 25, 2015.

Should presenters bring a powerpoint or prezi presentation? You do not have to. These presentations are only 10 mins and our technology is limited. However, if you do have a PPT or Prezi, please let us know in advance, so we can plan accordingly.

Will there be a moderator to ask questions and guide the discussion? Along with the group of students in the classroom, there will be a student ambassador and teacher present. Student Ambassadors will help with the facilitation. However, we want our presenters to have 10 mins of talk time. Students will have time for Q&A with our presenters.

Will presenters be grouped by industry? No. Our theme is “Diversity of Careers.”
