Drexel Alumni Gary Bernstein will discuss The Future of Finance, including growth opportunities in the finance and accounting fields as well as the value of big data analytics and how students can optimize their career preparation with the necessary skills.

Gary Bernstein is an Assistant Professor in the School of Business MBA program at Mercy College since September 2013. Gary had been an adjunct business professor for most of the last 33, with 20 years at Mercy, as well as serving as a College Trustee for 6 years. He has 32 years of experience with IBM Corporation, most recently as VP of Finance Transformation and Talent Development from 2006 to 2013. He was IBM’s global financial planning process owner and was key in creating Planning Centers of Excellence in Minnesota, Slovakia, Malaysia, India and Mexico with 2,500 Analysts. He also managed the governance for all Finance shared services. In addition he managed the IBM Finance Talent Development project office. He was previously a VP Controller for IBM’s Global Integrated Supply Chain, the VP and Controller for IBM Microelectronics, the Senior VP and CFO of Technology Service Solutions an IBM / Kodak JV, and Director of Accounting for IBM North America. Gary has a BS in Accounting from Drexel University and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. He is also a CPA.
