A View from the Top with Jason Klipa, Director of Public Affairs & Government Relations, Walmart

Join LeBow College’s Institute for Strategic Leadership for an intimate discussion with Kason Klipa, Director of Public Affairs & Government Relations, Walmart.

Jason Klipa is the Director of Public Affairs & Government Relations for Walmart in the mid-atlantic states. He is responsible for overseeing Walmart’s legislative program in each state and serving as the primary contact with each state legislature, the Governor’s office and administration. Jason also works closely with his state chambers, grocers and retail associations to help shape Walmart’s agenda. In his current role, he works with Walmart’s Business Strategy and Operations teams to manage issues that have an impact on the business. Jason also works with the Real Estate department coordinating outreach with local elected officials to secure approval for new stores. He oversees a budget that includes WAL-PAC, Walmart’s Political Action Committee as well as the Walmart Foundation. Jason also represents the company with several stakeholder groups including the National Conference of State Legislators (NCSL), the Council of State Governments (CSG) and the Republican and Democrat Governors Association (RGA & DGA).

Jason began his career in state government over 15 years ago working as a legislative aide while at Penn State University. Since then he has worked on several campaigns and served as a policy analyst for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. Jason has lobbied for a variety of Fortune 500 clients specializing in gaming, liquor law and insurance.
