International Area Studies presents Global Careers Day

| Description: | On Friday, May 13, the International Area Studies Program will be hosting its first ever Global Careers Day. This half-day mini-conference will begin around 1:30pm on the 13th, with two panel sessions targeted to undergraduates interested in internationally-oriented careers. The first will focus on internationally-focused graduate school opportunities, and the second will explore internationally-focused career paths. Alumni engagement is a key component of these events. Each of the panels will feature International Area Studies Alumni who will be returning to campus to share their advice with current Drexel students. The programming for the day will also feature a wine and cheese reception for Global Careers Day participants followed by a dinner solely for current IAS students and alumni. Each of the components of this programming provides an opportunity for Drexel students interested in globally-oriented careers to learn from Drexel alumni, make contacts, and gain a sense of what paths are open to them as they prepare for graduation. This half-day of events also offers an opportunity for IAS alumni to reconnect with Drexel's vibrant International Area Studies department. The schedule for Friday May 13th is as follows: 1:30-2:00: Welcome and snacks (MacAlister Hall 2019) 2:00 -3:15: Panel One: Globally-Focused Graduate Programs (MacAlister 2019) 3:30-4:45: Panel Two: Internationally-Oriented Career Opportunities: Engaging Our Global World (MacAlister 2020) 5:00-5:45: Reception (MacAlister 2020) The panel sessions and the reception are open to the entire Drexel community.
