Retailers may want to coax consumers to embrace mobile promotion strategies: A Drexel LeBow researcher has found that using targeted promotions via mobile devices can be an effective way to get shoppers to cover more ground in a store, which leads to an increase in unplanned spending. 

Teams of Drexel LeBow professors and students are competing in a course-innovation contest that will take advantage of the technology featured in a new 12-story, $90 million building opening in fall 2013.

Drexel University’s Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) has won its bid to host the PRSSA National Conference at the Loews Hotel in Philadelphia in October 2013. Melissa Clawson, the PRSSA member who is serving as the 2012 national conference coordinator, says the group expects more than 1,000 attendees.
