WebMD CEO Wayne Gattinella Joins LeBow's Dean’s Advisory Board

Dr. George P. Tsetsekos, dean of Drexel University's LeBow College of Business, has announced that Wayne T. Gattinella, a 1976 graduate of LeBow College of Business and CEO, president, and director of WebMD, the leading provider of health information, will serve on the College's Dean's Advisory Board.

"Wayne Gattinella brings excellent perspective to the Dean's Advisory Board as someone who has successfully grown a major enterprise and from his own experiences at Drexel University," said Tsetsekos. "He understands the trends affecting business today and has great vision and foresight, as evidenced by his accomplishments at WebMD and throughout his career."

Gattinella joins a select group of business leaders who provide astute counsel to Dean Tsetsekos that has helped LeBow College continue to rise among the ranks of the best business schools worldwide. Since graduating from LeBow College of Business, Gattinella has stayed connected with the College and Drexel University. Earlier this year, he returned to Drexel's University City Main Campus to offer students his perspectives on the health information services industry.

Gattinella was named CEO of WebMD in 2005. He joined the company as President in 2001 after having served as executive vice president and chief marketing officer of PeoplePC. Under Gattinella's leadership, WebMD has become one of the most recognized and trusted brands of health information for consumers and physicians and has become the leader in supplying private health and benefits portals for Fortune 500 companies and the nation's largest health plans.

Dean's Advisory Board members are appointed for a three-year term and will make recommendations to Drexel University's LeBow College of Business senior administration on trends and challenges affecting business. The input of Advisory Board members enables Dean Tsetsekos and LeBow College faculty and administration to adjust academic programs and focus so that students and alumni are prepared to lead in their chosen fields.
