Frequently Asked Questions About Camp Business

How do I apply?

To apply, candidates must submit an application form and official high school transcripts. For non-native English speakers, students must also submit proof of English language proficiency.

What is the deadline to apply?

Deadlines for upcoming summer programs are announced in the winter when applications are open.

What precautions is LeBow taking to protect the health and safety of the students attending Camp Business?

The safety and health of our community remains a top priority. Drexel University and the LeBow College of Business explicitly follow all health and public safety guidelines from state and local officials. Learn more by visiting Drexel’s Response to Coronavirus website.

Will on-campus housing be available to students participating in Camp Business?

Housing will be available during the residential session in summer 2024.

Are meals provided?

For the commuter session, lunch will be provided daily. For the residential session, all meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) will be provided daily.

Am I permitted to miss a day of camp?

Due to the nature of the programs and the required teamwork, attendance for all days is mandatory. If you have a special circumstance that will require you to be absent on any day during your program, you must notify us of this as soon as it becomes known to you. Unapproved absences will result in dismissal from the program.

Are international students able to attend?

Yes. Every year we welcome students from around the world and look forward to all the different perspectives that are brought to the courses. As all courses are taught in English, we do require a video conference interview as part of the application process to ensure they are comfortable with the language and make sure they will be successful in the program.

If I am a non-native English speaker, how can I verify my English language proficiency?

Non-native English speakers should submit test scores to verify English language proficiency. If the student attends a high school where the primary language of instruction is English, this requirement is automatically waived. If submitting test scores, please note the admissions committee prefers TOEFL or IELTS scores, when available. The minimum TOEFL score required for admission is 100 (iBT.) The minimum IELTS score required is a 7. If TOEFL or IELTS scores are not available, applicants may submit PSAT, SAT, or ACT scores as an alternate. To submit, please upload an unofficial copy of your score report to the online application.

What is appropriate attire for my program?

Appropriate attire for all programs is casual wear or business casual. Examples of business casual include collared shirts, blouses, non-denim slacks, skirts and dresses. Closer to the start of camp, all residential participants will receive a “what to pack” list as well as what days business casual wear will be needed. All commuter participants will be notified in advance which days business casual wear will be needed.

If I am participating in the commuter session and need accommodations, where should I look?

Drexel has negotiated discounted rates with hotels located in Philadelphia for faculty, professional staff and current students for business travel. Prospective students and their families that are visiting the University may also book rooms at the discounted rates.

Where and for what dates and times should I book my airfare or train?

We recommend flying into Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) which is about a 15-minute drive to campus. Newark (EWR) is an alternative but is about a 2-hour drive to campus.

If you are taking a train, we recommend traveling via Amtrak to William H. Gray III 30th Street Station (about a ten minute walk to campus).

Please book an itinerary that guarantees your arrival to campus no later than 10:00am ET on the opening day of camp. For departures, we recommend no earlier than 4:00pm on the last day of camp to ensure you are able to attend our closing festivities.

If admitted to Camp Business, what additional requirements are necessary for participation in the program?

All students admitted to Camp Business for both the commuter and residential sessions must have their parent/guardian complete a liability waiver. If participating in our residential camp, students must also complete a housing form, medical form and provide proof of medical insurance in the US. The following vaccines may also be required of residential session participants:

  • Meningitis Vaccination (for all students)
  • Documentation of PPD Test, with potential for follow-up tests pending results (for international students)

All these forms and requests will be communicated to the students at the time of admittance.

What is the refund policy?

If admitted to the program, a $250 deposit will be required to hold your spot and will be due within two weeks of your acceptance. Failure to make this deposit may waive your spot in the program. Full payment must be made by May 1st. Full refunds will be granted up and through May 1st.

After May 1st, even as new acceptances go out and payments are collected, no refunds will be issued at any point.
