Interested in participating in a graduate consulting course or competition in 2019? In this interactive session, students will examine storytelling, critical thinking, and industry engagement – the key components required to be prepared for industry interactions at LeBow.
In this session, students will:
- Develop an understanding of the most in-demand soft skills and why they’re essential for success
- Learn how to create and communicate a presentation-ready story
- Acquire verbal and non-verbal communication techniques for professional and social interactions with industry leaders
- Understand how to think critically in order to make logical and informed decisions
- Participate in team exercises to sharpen soft skills
- Learn how to maximize effective and productive interaction to develop trust and build professional rapport
- Create a learning plan for ongoing practice and refinement of interpersonal skills
- Learn the common mistakes students make when engaging with industry leaders and how to correct them
Come prepared to interact, observe and practice your skills! This opportunity is open to all graduate students at the LeBow College of Business. Participation is strongly recommended and will be taken into consideration for future company-facing opportunities.
The session will be instructed by Diana Jones, director of experiential learning, and Murugan Anandarajan, professor of MIS and academic director of experiential learning.
