Camp Business Counselor Application Summer 2021

Location:

Registration for this event has passed.

This summer, LeBow will be hosting rising juniors and seniors in high school for two commuter sessions of Camp Business. Camp Business is an intensive introduction to both collegiate and corporate business education — and it shows participants that business can be both fun and exciting.

We are looking for three current LeBow students to serve as Camp Business Counselors (CBCs) for the duration of Camp!

Requirements: Applicants must…

  • Be a student either in classes or on co-op for the Fall 2021 term
  • Be available from July 9 – July 23, 2021 from approximately 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. daily
    • Some exceptions may be made for those with classes during the day
  • Obtain the PA Enhanced Background Certifications prior to the start of camps (at no cost to you)

Counselor Responsibilities:

  • Participate in bi-monthly Zoom meetings with other CBCs and Program Manager leading up to the camps (frequency may increase, if needed, but not without prior notice and availability)
  • Assist with preparation of camp materials prior to the start of camp, including gathering and organizing materials, finalizing details, and setting up spaces
  • Assist with check-in and material pick-up for each camp
  • Attend sessions with students to serve as an observer and assistant to the instructors as needed
  • Lead various social and teambuilding activities throughout the camps
  • Serve as a mentor/leader to ensure that all students are actively engaged
  • Monitor, post and reply as necessary in the Camp Business GroupMe for the duration of the camps (updates, reminders, photos, etc.)
  • Send follow-up correspondence (thank you, survey, etc.) to students after camps are over
  • Participate in follow-up communications or events, including Camp Business Reunions
  • Tentative: Attend and interact with campers during nightly activities (two to three per week max)

Counselors will be paid $10/hour for approximately eight hours/day for three weeks. Counselors who wish to live on campus will receive free housing, be placed in a single room, and receive a meal stipend via their Dragon Card to assist with breakfast and dinner expenses.

If you are interested in applying for one of the open positions, please click “Sign Up” and fill out the application by Friday, May 14. Selected candidates will be called in for a virtual interview the week of May 17. All positions will be awarded by Tuesday, June 1.

If you have any questions about the position, feel free to reach out to Michelle Pearl at mdp49@drexel.edu.
