Graduate Technical Series: Data Management (Excel)

The Graduate Technical Series is a training series that is offered to graduate students in the MBA and MS programs at the LeBow College of Business.

Note: This session will be held virtually via Zoom and the materials and Zoom link will be provided at least a day prior to the event to registered participants.

During this interactive Data Management Excel training session, students will learn how to:

  • Manage large sets of data to turn data into information
  • Filter and sort data to identify patterns and trends (AutoFilter and Advance Filters)
  • Insert subtotals and control spreadsheets by using Data Validations
  • Calculate percentiles and quartiles, and learn how to use the “RANK” function
  • Use the MATCH function to confirm data and learn how to remove duplicates
  • Use the LOOKUP functions (includes VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, XLOOKUP and INDEXMATCH) to retrieve data instantly
