Uribe obtained a Ph.D. in economics from the\nUniversity of Ch icago\, a Master degree from CEMA (Buenos Aires\,\nArgentina) and a BA deg ree from Universidad Nacional de Córdoba\n(Argentina). He has made scient ific contributions in the areas of\nInternational Economics and Monetary a nd Fiscal Policy. His research\nfocuses on understanding the sources and p ropagation of macroeconomic\nshocks and on the design of monetary and fisc al stabilization\npolicies. His work has been published in academic journa l such as the\nAmerican Economic Review\, the Journal of Political Economy \, and\nEconometrica and has received financial support from the National\ nScience Foundation. He has held visiting research positions at the\nFeder al Reserve Bank of Philadelphia\, the European Central Bank\,\nGoethe Univ ersity (Germany)\, University of Bonn\, and Princeton\nUniversity and has consulted for the World Bank.
