How does move \naffect people’s psychology and behavior? The present research\nexamine s the relationship between residential mobility and prosocial\nbehaviors. Previous literature in sociology and psychology\ndemonstrates that high re sidential mobility is often negatively\nassociated with prosocial behavior s such as high crime rate and low\npro-community actions. This research ch allenges this finding and\nproposes a novel prediction that high residenti al mobility can\nincrease prosocial behaviors\, especially towards distant recipients.\nResults from a national panel data\, lab experiments and a f ield study\ndemonstrate that residential mobility increases donation and h elping\nbehaviors towards distant recipients.\n DTSTART:20171110T160000Z DTEND:20171110T172000Z LOCATION:Gerri C.
