This competition is an\nopportunity for students to demonstrate their understanding of the \naccounting process\, system of internal controls and the COSO framework\ nfor internal controls. It is also an opportunity to refine\npresentation skills and network with alumni and local professionals\nwho serve as the c oaches and judges.\n\nKICKOFF EVENT\n\nThere is a mandatory kickoff event that all registrants must attend to\nmeet their teammates and get the case materials on Monday\, February\n12th from 4-6pm. Check the events calenda r for registration and\nfurther details.\n\nDAY OF THE COMPETITION\n\nRegi stration will take place from 8-8:30am. Participants will have a\nchance t o enjoy a continental breakfast and get to know team members\nand meet the ir coaches. The program will begin at 8:30am with a guest\nspeaker who wil l provide vital information for the case.\n\nEach team will have 3.5 hours (9am -12:30pm) to review the case and\ncritical information just provided \, formulate their response to the\ncase questions and develop a PowerPoin t based presentation. A box\nlunch will be provided at noon so teams may c ontinue to work on their\npresentations. Each team must submit an electron ic copy of their\npresentation by 12:30pm. No changes may be made to teams ’ PowerPoint\npresentations after the 12:30pm submission deadline.\n\nTe ams will be randomly assigned a 15 minute slot with one of our two\npanels of judges to present their results. Team presentations will be\nin 20 min ute intervals to allow transitions between 1:00 and 3:30. The\ntop four te ams will be announced at the conclusion of the first round\nof judging. Im mediately following this we will release the rest of the\ngroup and the to p four teams will again be randomly assigned for the\nfinal round of judgi ng.
