DESCRIPTION: \n\nWHAT IS THE DRAGON DATATHON?\n\nDrexel LeBow’s Dragon Da
 tathon is a high energy\, one-day event that\nbrings together teams of und
 ergraduate students to turn data into\nactionable insight. During this eve
 nt\, student teams work on analytics\nchallenges using open-source dataset
 s.\n\nIn preparation for the datathon\, undergraduate students will form\n
 teams of 5-7 individuals. For the duration of the event\, students have\nt
 he opportunity to meticulously turn the business problem into a\nseries of
  statistical questions\, design a technical approach\, and use\ndata analy
 sis and data technology skills to create solutions that\nsolve the problem
  at hand.\n\nAt the conclusion of the event\, teams present their projects
  to a\npanel of industry and faculty judges\, outlining the data-driven\ni
 nsights for their business problem\, the scope of their analysis\,\ntechni
 cal challenges\, overall solutions\, implementation plan\, and\nexpected i
 mpact.\n\nStudents use their own laptops and are given access to a compute
 r lab\nwith software applications such as SAS\, R\, and Python. Dr. Chuanr
 en\nLiu\, Assistant Professor\, Decision Sciences and MIS\, will serve as 
 the\nfaculty advisor overseeing the challenge.\n\nMeals and refreshments w
 ill be provided to participants.\n\nPREPARATORY WORKSHOP\n\nStudents are s
 trongly encouraged to participate in one of two optional\nworkshops on MON
 DAY APRIL 9TH FROM 12-2 PM and SATURDAY APRIL 14TH\nFROM 12-2 PM in GHALL 
 219 to prepare for the datathon\, instructed by\nDr. Liu. Please email jtk

 ITY\n\nTo be eligible to participate\, team members must be currently-enro
 lled\nundergraduate students that have familiarity with core techniques fo
 r\nbusiness analytics\, such as data mining\, machine learning\, and\nstat
 istical modeling.\n\nGUIDELINES\n\nParticipants may use any programming la
 nguage.\n\nREGISTRATION\n\nTo participate in the Datathon\, all students m
 ust register by FRIDAY\,\nAPRIL 13 on the Drexel LeBow events calendar at\
