DESCRIPTION: \n\nPrior to joining the Department of Management and Organiza
 tion at\nBoston College in 2008\, Pratt was a professor of organizational\
 nbehavior at the University of Illinois. He currently enjoys a courtesy\na
 ppointment with the Department of Psychology. He also serves as an\nassoci
 ate editor for the Administrative Science Quarterly\, and is an\nAcademy o
 f Management Fellow.\n\nHis research is problem-centered and process-orien
 ted\, and\nconsequently he tends to engage in cross-level research. His in
 terests\ninclude how individuals connect with the work that they do\, as w
 ell as\nto the organizations\, professions\, occupations\, and other colle
 ctives\nin which they find themselves. Theoretically\, his research draws\
 nheavily from theories of identity and identification\, meaning\,\nemotion
 \, intuition\, and culture (e.g.\, artifacts). Methodologically\,\nwhile h
 e has published work that utilizes lab research and surveys\,\nmuch of his
  work is ethnographic or otherwise qualitative in nature.\nRecent research
  projects center on meaningful work\, collective\nambivalence\, profession
 al identity work\, and the social construction\nof trust among firefighter
