DESCRIPTION: \n\nEmanuel Zur\, PhD\, Assistant Professor of Accounting and 
 Information\nAssurance\, joined the faculty in fall 2013. Prior to joining
 \nMaryland’s AIA faculty\, Emanuel was an assistant professor of\naccoun
 ting at Baruch College and a visiting assistant professor at\nMIT’s Sloa
 n School of Management. He holds an LLB in law and a BA in\neconomics from
  Tel-Aviv University in Israel\, as well as an MPhil in\nmanagement\, and 
 a PhD in business administration (accounting) from New\nYork University’
 s Stern School of Business. Before entering\nacademia\, Emanuel worked as 
 a consultant for EY and as a lawyer for\none of the leading law firms in I
 srael. His research has been\npublished in the Journal of Finance and the 
 Review of Financial\nStudies and he has presented research papers at leadi
 ng universities\nin Asia\, Europe\, and North America. His work on hedge f
 und activists\nhave been cited in such media outlets as CNBC\, The Washing
 ton Post\,\nForbes Magazine\, and The New York Times.\n
