DESCRIPTION: \n\nThe sport\, leisure\, and recreation industries continue t
 o expand\nglobally\, creating more opportunities for future sport managers
 . This\ncourse will provide students with the baseline knowledge necessary
  for\na career in European/international sport management. Through a\ncomb
 ination of in-person class meetings and online lessons\, including\ndiscus
 sion boards and reflection journals\, students will learn about\nfundament
 al/contemporary issues in European sport management\, matters\nrelated to 
 governance and management essentials of\nEuropean/international sport.\n\n
 The course culminates in an Intensive Course Abroad hosted by the\nCentre 
 for Law and Economics of Sport (CDES) at the University of\nLimoges\, in F
 rance. While in France\, students will gain a theoretical\nand practical u
 nderstanding of concepts learned throughout the course\nusing a comparativ
 e approach delivered by CDES faculty. The trip also\nincludes facility tou
 rs and networking opportunities with in both\nLimoges and Paris\, includin
 g meetings with French sport management\nindustry officials from the Frenc
 h National Olympic and Sports\nCommittee\, Paris-St. Germain\, the French 
 Rugby Federation and other\norganizations as part of supplementing and sup
