DESCRIPTION: \n\nShira Cohen joined the Temple faculty as an Assistant Prof
 essor of\nAccounting after earning her PhD from Columbia University. Her\n
 research interests can be grouped into two main areas. The first\nattempts
  to understand how managers use financial statement\ninformation in making
  investment decisions\, and the second focuses on\ncorporate disclosures. 
 Her dissertation received the Best Paper Award\nat the 2014 AAA Regional M
 eeting.\n\nIn addition to industry experience\, during the 2017-2018 acade
 mic\nyear\, Professor Cohen served as a visiting scholar-in residence at t
 he\nSecurities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in Washington\, D.C. During\n
 her time in government\, she worked as a financial economist\, gaining\nin
 -depth policy experience and providing economic and risk analysis on\nboth
  proposed and adopted regulation.\n\nDr. Cohen’s research interests incl
 ude Corporate Investment\,\nCorporate Disclosure\, Corporate Governance\, 
 Accounting Information and\nManagerial Decision Making.\n
