DESCRIPTION: \n\nThe Center for Business Analytics will partner with Southw
 est Airlines\nto offer the 2020 datathon for graduate students.\n\nWHAT IS
  THE DATATHON?\n\nDrexel LeBow’s annual datathon is an analytics competi
 tion that\ntasks teams of graduate students with leveraging data to solve 
 a\nbusiness challenge for an organization. During the one-day event\,\ntea
 ms of 5-7 graduate students turn a business problem into a series\nof stat
 istical questions\, design a technical approach\, and use data\nanalysis a
 nd technology skills to develop solutions.\n\nStudents will interact with 
 Southwest Airlines throughout the day\,\nshowcasing their business problem
  solving abilities and analytics\napproaches to the organization.\n\nAt th
 e conclusion of the datathon\, teams will present their insights\nto a pan
 el of judges comprised of Southwest Airlines professionals and\nDrexel LeB
 ow faculty\, sharing data-driven insights related to the\nbusiness problem
 \, the scope of their analyses\, technical challenges\,\noverall solutions
 \, implementation plan\, and expected impact.\n\nStudents use their own la
 ptops and are provided access to a computer\nlab with software application
 s such as SAS\, R\, and Python. Dr. Murugan\nAnandarajan\, professor of De
 cision Sciences and MIS\, will serve as the\nfaculty advisor overseeing th
 e challenge.\n\nMeals and refreshments will be provided to participants.\n
 \nPARTICIPANT ELIGIBILITY\n\nTo be eligible to participate\, team members 
 must be currently-enrolled\nDrexel LeBow graduate students interested or p
 roficient in core\ntechniques such as data or text mining\, machine learni
 ng\, and\nstatistical modeling. Individuals who register will be contacted
 \ncloser to the event to form and/or confirm teams.\n\nDATATHON CHALLENGE\
