DESCRIPTION: \n\nWomen’s representation in the economy has risen steadily
  over the\ndecades when it comes to education\, workforce experience and i
 ncreased\nearnings\, yet why do we still see a significant wealth gap betw
 een\nwomen and men today?\n\nCurrent research has shown that chief among t
 he reasons for this\nvariance is due to pay inequities\, early childhood e
 ducation and the\nlack of women’s participation in the stock market. Thi
 s workshop\nwill open with a discussion on these barriers\, not to mention
  others\,\nthat women face in growing their personal wealth during their w
 orking\nyears.\n\nFocusing on women’s non-participation in the stock mar
 ket in\nparticular\, this workshop will address how the role of fear serve
 s to\ndiscourage their engagement with the investment world\, thus resulti
 ng\nin a pronounced gender difference in financial inclusion. It then\nbec
 omes the goal of this discussion to arm women with basic investment\nknowl
 edge so that they\, in turn\, can make sound economic decisions\nwith conf
 idence and independence. To this end\, key financial concepts\nand termino
 logy will be examined within the context of an\nemployer-sponsored retirem
