SUMMARY:Graduate Datathon Featuring the Philadelphia Flyers
DESCRIPTION: \n\nDATATHON OVERVIEW\n\nDrexel LeBow’s annual datathon is a
 n analytics competition that\ntasks teams of graduate students with levera
 ging data to derive\ninsights for an organization’s business challenge. 
 During this\none-day event\, teams of graduate students turn a business pr
 oblem into\na series of statistical questions\, design a technical approac
 h\, and\nuse data analysis and technology skills to develop findings. Stud
 ents\nwill interact with the organization throughout the day\, showcasing\
 ntheir skills and approaches.\n\nAt the conclusion of the datathon\, teams
  will present their insights\nto a panel of judges comprising the Philadep
 hia Flyers professionals\nand Drexel LeBow faculty\, sharing data-driven i
 nsights related to the\nbusiness problem\, the scope of their analyses\, t
 echnical challenges\nand overall solutions.\n\nStudents use their own lapt
 ops and are provided access to a computer\nlab with software applications 
 such as SAS\, R and Python. Murugan\nAnandarajan\, PhD\, professor of deci
 sion sciences and MIS\, will serve\nas the faculty advisor overseeing the 
 challenge.\n\nPARTICIPANT ELIGIBILITY\n\nTo be eligible to participate\, t
 eam members must be currently enrolled\ngraduate students interested or pr
 oficient in core techniques for\nbusiness analytics\, such as data and sta
 tistical modeling. Students\nare invited to form teams of 5 to 7 members a
 nd should email their\nteam rosters to Dornella Harvey at dh3248@drexel.ed
 u. The Center for\nBusiness Analytics will form teams for any students who
  would like to\nparticipate and are in need of team members.\n\nDATATHON C
