Ties are not required\,\nbut preferred.\n\nABOUT THE ACORN CLU B \nThe Acorn Club was founded in 1889 and is the oldest women’s club of \nits kind. The club was formed as a perpetual body for the promotion of\n literacy\, musical and artistic tastes for social enjoyments and such\noth er kindred purposes as the club may from time to time determine.\n\nAt its inception\, the club had eight charter members. Located at 1519\nLocust S treet\, its residence for over 50 years\, the club provides a\ngracious an d welcoming environment in Center City Philadelphia. The\nfirst meeting ro om was a house on Pine Street and the first clubhouse\nwas located at 1504 Walnut Street.
