Ties are not required\,\nbut preferred.\n\nABOUT THE ACORN CLUB\n \nThe Acorn Club was founded in 1889 and is the oldest women’s club of\n its kind. The club was formed as a perpetual body for the promotion of\nli teracy\, musical and artistic tastes for social enjoyments and such\nother kindred purposes as the club may from time to time determine.\n\nAt its i nception\, the club had eight charter members. Located at 1519\nLocust Str eet\, its residence for over 50 years\, the club provides a\ngracious and welcoming environment in Center City Philadelphia. The\nfirst meeting room was a house on Pine Street and the first clubhouse\nwas located at 1504 W alnut Street.
