In this role\, he\nmentors current and future leaders\, advising them on addressing their\npeople\, organizational and b usiness issues. He is also a guest\ncolumnist on effective leadership for Philadelphia Business Journal.\n\nStan gained valuable leadership experien ce as a CEO\, a university\ntrustee\, and a board member\, by observing ho w other CEOs lead their\norganizations. He has broad experience serving as a director of\npublic\, private\, and private equity companies\, as well as trade\nassociation\, educational and economic development organizations .\n\nThroughout his career\, Stan has been both a student and teacher of\n leadership\, and has been recognized for his experience and expertise\nby being invited as a guest lecturer on this subject at the Wharton\nSchool o f the University of Pennsylvania and at Drexel University.\n\nAs the forme r president and CEO of PQ Corporation\, a company operating\nin North Amer ica\, South America\, Europe and Asia Pacific in two core\nbusinesses – chemicals and engineered glass materials\, he gained\nsignificant cultural ly diverse experience leading a global enterprise.\n\nCurrently\, Stan ser ves as vice chairman of the board of trustees of\nDrexel University\, chai rman of the Drexel College of Medicine Advisory\nBoard\, and is a trustee of Friends Select School. He is a member of a\nnumber of private and priva te equity boards\, as well as the board of\nBen Franklin Technology Partne rs\, where he chairs the audit committee.\nHe is former chairman of the bo ard of the Drexel College of Medicine.\n\nStan earned a bachelor of scienc e degree in chemical engineering and\nan MBA degree from Drexel University \, and completed the advanced\nmanagement program at the Harvard Business School.
