This competition will provide students an op portunity\nto demonstrate their understanding of the accounting process\, system\nof internal controls and COSO 2013 which became effective December 15\,\n2014.\n\nDAY OF THE COMPETITION\n\nEach approved FIC3 Student Team will meet in GHall Room 220 @ 8:30am\non Friday\, February 13\, 2015. Foll owing opening remarks teams will\nthen receive the actual case\, detailed requirements and supplement\nmaterial. Each team will have 4 hours (9am -1 pm) to review the case\,\nformulate their response to the case questions a nd develop a\nPowerPoint based presentation.\n\nThere will be a working lu nch provided from noon to 1:00pm. Each team\nmust submit an electronic cop y of their presentation by 1:00pm. No\nchanges may be made to teams’ Pow erPoint presentations after the\n1:00pm submission deadline. Teams will be assigned a 10 minute slot to\npresent their results to our panel of judge s. Team presentations will\nbe in 15 minute intervals between 1:00 and 3:3 0 in G Hall Room 205.\nAwards will be presented as soon as the judges have reached a\ndecision.\n\nKEY DATES\n\n * Registration Deadline: February 2 \, 2015\n * Kickoff Date: February 5\, 2015\n * Competition Date: February 13\, 2015\n\nTEAM STRUCTURE\n\n * Teams of 4 students\n * One member of t he team should be designated to supply a laptop\nthat can access the drago nfly network\n * Teams must consist of at least one Accounting Major\, one senior\nand one sophomore\n * Team members are required to register indiv idually and notate\nwhich team they are entering with when completing the registration. If\nyou do not have team you may register as an individual a nd will be\nassigned a team if space permits.\n * There will be a limit of 10 case teams so the first teams\nregistered and approved i.e. meet the t eam composition criteria will\nreceive one of the 10 available spots.\n\nT EAM PRIZES\n\n * 1st Place - $500 ($125 per each team member)\n * 2nd Plac e - $300 ($75 per each team member)\n * 3rd Place - $200 ($50 per each tea m member)\n\nREGISTRATION AND REQUIREMENTS\n\nDue to the nature of the com petition\, participation is limited\; not\nevery application will be accep ted into the competition.\n\n * To participate in the competition\, each t eam member must register\nhere before the deadline of February 2\, 2015.\n * At least 2 members of each accepted team will be required to\nattend th e Kick Off Event “Tales from the Hard Drive” on Thursday\nFebruary 5th in GHall 722 from 5-7pm\n\nYou will be required to agree to the attached statement of\ncomportment.
