Empirically\, we examine h ow groups of actors\nin the field of civil aviation interpreted environmen tal issues over\nthe period 1996-2010. Actors employed various cultural fr ames to\ninterpret environmental issues as these rose and fell in prominen ce\nwithin the field. We develop a framework to track actors’ framing\nt rajectories over time\, in particular the extent to which these frames\nre veal actors’ stance towards buffering versus integrating issues\ninto th eir core operations\, and describe four such prototypical\nframing traject ories. We find that actors’ framing trajectories were\ninfluenced by the ir positions within the field\, which in turn were\ninfluenced by public a ttention to the issues. We conclude with a\nconceptual model that links ac tor framing trajectories to issue\nsettlement within organizational fields .\n DTSTART:20150508T143000Z DTEND:20150508T155000Z LOCATION:Gerri C.
