To do that\, we identify accoun ts of corporate\ninsiders in a large dataset provided by a retail discount broker. We\nshow that insiders overweight firms from their own industry.\ nFurthermore\, insiders earn substantial abnormal returns only on stocks\n from their industry\, especially for obscure stocks (small\, low analyst\n coverage\, high volatility). Overall\, our results suggest that\ncorporate insiders have an informational advantage in stocks from\ntheir own indust ry over investors who are outsiders to the industry.\n DTSTART:20151106T153000Z DTEND:20151106T165000Z LOCATION:Gerri C.
