James Rinier is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Accounting teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in accounting and taxation. From Drexel University, he holds a Master of Science of Taxation (1993) and a dual Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in Accounting (2016). Jim joined the full-time faculty in 2016 and has been an adjunct professor since 2004. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the states of New Jersey and Pennsylvania and an Enrolled Agent through the IRS. Before completing his last degree, Jim retired from public accounting as a senior tax manager and from the Army Reserves as a major. He has worked for Deloitte, Ernst & Young, PwC, General Electric and the IRS with three years in London, UK with the Deloitte US Tax Team. Jim’s military experience had him three years in Germany and one deployment to Iraq and Kuwait. He has written several articles for the Tax Column for Strategic Finance and currently works on other tax research projects.
