Over the course of a 30-year career at EY, (20 as a partner), Bob has assumed increasing responsibility for leadership and growth, as well as implementing strategic initiatives. Most recently, Bob has led the EY Wealth and Asset Management (WAM) practice in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions (220 professionals and $100 million in revenue) since 2007. Bob also leads EY’s Director Initiative for the mutual fund practice, where he has been instrumental in strengthening the relationship between EY and Mutual Fund Boards. He has 35 years of experience in the asset management and financial services industry, including 5 years of direct industry experience as vice president of Scudder (now Deutsche Bank), senior vice president of The Boston Company and chief operating officer of Mellon Fund Administration in London and Dublin.

When Bob led the New England practice, he diversified the practice into hedge and private equity funds, growing 3 to 11 Partners. In 2007, Bob was asked to transfer to Philadelphia where he was the sole partner in Mid-Atlantic and tasked with leading strategic growth. In 10 years, Bob has grown the practice 4-fold while working through one of the worst recessions in modern history. The practice now has 12 partners and has consistently grown at double digit rates.

In addition to leading the Mid-Atlantic practice, Bob serves some of EY’s largest and most complex asset management companies. Bob currently serves as the lead audit partner on Hamilton Lane, FS Investments and Guggenheim. In the past, Bob has served: Delaware Investments, Wilmington Trust, Morgan Stanley, DB Funds, Legg Mason, Neuberger Berman, Gabelli Investments, Federated Investors, The Baupost Group, Convexity Capital, T. Rowe Price and Vanguard.

In addition to his client responsibilities, Bob is Campus Coordinating Partner for Villanova University, the 7th largest recruiting school for EY. He also serves on the Villanova School of Business Dean’s Advisory Council, and he sits on the Board of the Villanova Alumni Association.

Bob serves on the Advisory Committee of the Mutual Fund Directors Forum, providing guidance to the Forum leadership on the industry’s views on issues of concern to Independent Directors of mutual funds. Over the course of his career, has served as Chairman of the Investment Companies Committee of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants, and as a Director and Treasurer of the National Investment Company Service Association.

Bob received a BS in accounting from Villanova University. He is a CPA registered in several states. He has attended the Executive Program of the Kellogg Graduate School, Northwestern University and the Ernst & Young Strategic Leadership Program of Harvard Business School. Bob and his wife Kathy have three grown children. Bob is an avid golfer, skier, and motorcycle rider.
