Daria Torres

Daria Torres is a proven strategist and executive-level advisor, with analytical acumen honed in former roles as a McKinsey & Company engagement manager and Lockheed Martin systems engineer. Over the past two decades, as the founder and Managing Partner of Walls Torres Group, Daria has been a guiding force working with leadership teams and boards to grapple with complex strategic questions, build clarity and consensus, and establish commitment to new directional paths. Her clients include some of the world’s foremost corporations, academic institutions, and philanthropic organizations and her firm’s consulting activities across the globe have been cited as critical for sustainable growth, institutional transformation, sound governance, and outsized impact. From the C-suite to the board room, Daria brings a global perspective and a wealth of cross-disciplinary knowledge. As an Advisory Board member of Roshni Rides, a technology-driven transportation services platform built to serve Karachi, Pakistan, she counseled the co-founders through successive rounds of the global Hult Prize competition, in which they ultimately prevailed over 50,000 teams from more than 100 countries and secured a $1 Million prize presented by President Bill Clinton. She currently serves as an Independent Board Director for Human Resolution Technologies, a leading provider of remote patient monitoring solutions for adaptive, precision care at scale. Daria has also advised scores of fast-track leaders, entrepreneurs and start-ups through cohort-based programs convened by The Enterprise Center (ScaleUp), Exude Inc. (Women’s Network Series), Goldman Sachs (10,000 Small Businesses), Cornell Tech (BAJ Accelerator Firing Range), Main Line Chamber of Commerce (Society of Professional Women), and Management Leadership for Tomorrow (Career Advancement Program).

Within the academic community, Daria is an award-winning and top-rated faculty member. During her tenure at Rutgers University School of Business at Camden (2004-2014), she was twice recognized with a Teaching Excellence commendation, and since 2007 at The Wharton School of Business she has consistently garnered impeccable reviews while lecturing in progressively more advanced levels of the program. For both schools she has designed and instructed core MBA, executive MBA and undergraduate courses, including Management Science, Operations Management, Advanced Persuasion, and Crisis Management.

Daria is also a vital contributor and thought leader within her local and larger communities. She is the Board Chair of Giving Cycle, an innovative experiential youth philanthropy program, and an Alumni Trustee of the University of Virginia IDEA Fund, where she Chairs the Nominations and Governance Committee. She has also catalyzed growth and invigorated engagement while serving on the boards of SOSAfrik International, Camden Dream Center, and the Holland Scholars Program. Daria is a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts of the USA, University of Virginia Alumni Association, Mensa International, National Black MBA Association and the National Society of Black Engineers and has mentored countless budding professionals through these and other affiliations. Her spirit of social responsibility and commitment to servant leadership are deeply rooted, reflected by her selection as a Coca-Cola Scholar, Regional Finalist for the White House Fellows Program, and Inaugural Executive in Residence with the Philanthropy Network of Greater Philadelphia. Daria earned her Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia with a double major in Economics, a Master’s in Systems Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania with a specialization in Telecommunications, and an MBA in Operations and Information Management from The Wharton School where she was a fully-funded I.W. Burnham Fellow and earned Director’s List distinction. When not advising, lecturing or volunteering, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, including underwater exploration adventures as a PADI-certified diver.
